Before
the video was shot, Ross held an island wide search for
a leading lady to star opposite him. His final pick was
Makeedah John who impressed the singer with her natural
beauty and dynamite personality. The video, which was
directed by film and television producer Davina Lee will
be launched and released in late August. The singer is
also now in studio and getting ready to release even more
hit singles. Ross is also planning a launch of his new
website, ShayneRoss.net. His publicist, Esther Lee said
that the singer is now also preparing new singles for
release and will be working hard to make his name in the
Caribbean and the rest of the world.
With
a smooth, sexy voice, good looks and dynamite personality,
it's no surprise that Shayne Ross is gaining fans and
widespread attention. Hailing from the east coast community
of Mon Repos on the Caribbean island of St Lucia, this
singer/songwriter/producer has grown up immersed in the
sweet sounds of calypso music, rhythm & blues, hip-hop,
reggae and dancehall. All of these genres have influenced
his music and the sound that he creates today.
His
first public foray into the music industry was at the
age of ten when he wrote his own calypso song for a school's
talent competition. From that moment on, Shayne has gone
full speed ahead with his love of music and started writing
songs religiously. His first release, a hip-hop track,
'Leave Me Alone' recorded at the Heights Music Studio,
proved that he had the stuff to rule the airwaves.
In
2006, the singer showed that he had full command of rhythm
& blues when he released the sexy single 'Naked' that
had female fans screaming and begging for more. With 'Take
You Home', Shayne cemented the fact that he was hot property
and could sing or rap like the best of them. Many are
now calling him St Lucia's John Legend.
In addition to singing and writing his own music, Shayne
produces many hot tracks including 'Breed' for St Lucian
performer Cherry L. He has collaborated with the best
local producers including Sherwin 'Dupes' Brice and Francis
'Leebo' Delima on his music. In the July/August issue
of SHE Caribbean Magazine, Shayne was named as the 'One
to Watch' in the Caribbean's music industry.
Shayne
has opened up for acts such as Jamaican superstars Voicemail,
and has performed at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival 'Jazz
on The Square'. It is only a matter of time for this sexy
singer to become the main act. With his music, Shayne
wants 'to keep on expressing himself and give people something
that they can relate to, that they can groove to and to
create music that lasts forever'. Myspace.com/shayneross
